One Wise Choice
...a twenty- something's quest for a healthy mind and body one wise choice at a time...
I've never considered myself a healthy person or an unhealthy person. I am someone who likes to be in control; yet has never felt I've had a control over my eating. Eating habits are repeated day after day, month after month, year after year. All too often, I have found that just one bite, just one piece, or just one box was never enough.
In order to break this cycle, I looked to other areas where I have had success. While learning how to crochet, I started making blankets for cats before being able to make beautiful afghans. My BIG run in High School was a little over a mile, now I am up to five. Each of these successes were built one small step at a time. Therefore, I realized each time I would resolve to "start my healthy lifestyle tomorrow" by only eating dessert once a month, or give up carbs, or never clean my plate, I was setting myself up for failure by demanding too much of myself.
I often feel like I am losing out when I see others enjoying the food that I want. By documenting my daily food choices, I want to prove to myself that I hold the power, not the food while also inspiring others to believe that you can too.
